<p>Authorities in <a href="https://foxnews.com/category/us/miami" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Miami</a> identified the five people killed when an Amazon cargo plane overran a runway while landing at Miami International Airport on Sunday, crashing into vehicles and catching on fire.</p><p>Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz released the names of the victims in a news conference on Tuesday.</p><p>They were identified as: Rolando Aleman Leon, 55; Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo, 53; Julio C. Three of those people remain hospitalized, with two of them in critical condition. The two pilots were treated and released, the sheriff said.</p><p>Amazon Air Flight 7598 was traveling from San Juan, Puerto Rico, on its third flight of the day, when it tried landing at the Miami airport.</p><p><a href="https://foxnews.com/tech/pilotless-cargo-aircraft-could-change-how-packages-move" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>PILOTLESS CARGO AIRCRAFT COULD CHANGE HOW PACKAGES MOVE</strong></a></p><p>The jet overshot the runway by at least 1,300 feet beyond the paved surface and crashed into multiple vehicles, including a 2012 white Ford Econoline van with passengers inside, National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Chairwoman <a href="https://foxnews.com/us/ntsb-report-details-controller-decision-tech-failures-led-deadly-runway-collision" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Jennifer Homendy</a> said during a Monday press conference.</p><p>The aircraft then crashed through the airport perimeter and struck a civilian vehicle, a Toyota Corolla Cross LE.</p><p><a href="https://foxnews.com/us/united-airlines-jet-flew-low-slow-striking-light-pole-truck-near-newark-airport-ntsb" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>UNITED AIRLINES JET FLEW TOO LOW AND TOO SLOW BEFORE STRIKING LIGHT POLE AND TRUCK NEAR NEWARK AIRPORT: NTSB</strong></a></p><p>The plane then "continued into the grass and impacted another fence line, which separated an area where <a href="https://foxnews.com/tech/tesla-robotaxi-miami-launch-comes-limits" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tesla robotaxis</a> were stationed," Homendy said.</p><p>All the victims were inside the vehicles, she said.</p><p><a href="https://foxnews.com/category/us/crime/homicide" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Homicide</a> detectives with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office are investigating the deaths, Cordero-Stutz said.</p><p><i>Fox News Digital's Bonny Chu contributed to this report.</i></p>
